What to Expect
What is a service like?
In each service we celebrate our God in a real, down-to-earth, passionate experience. The services have contemporary worship music with a praise band. We are always seeking great new expressions of our passion for Him. In addition, we are committed to proclaiming the truth of God’s Word as we walk through a passage of scripture each week. The total service is about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
When should I come?
We would recommend arriving at least 10 minutes before the service start time so that you can park and get into the service. If you have children you will want to come at least 15 minutes early to allow for check in of your children.
Anything for my children?
On Sunday mornings we have children’s ministry available for children (newborn to third grade). This service is available so you can enjoy a great time of worship while they have an age appropriate experience as well.
Children’s Ministry Philosophy:
At HBCG, we are committed to our four pillars, and our children’s ministry is no exception. We want to proclaim the authority of Scripture without apology, as the first pillar states, even to the littlest ears! We believe God’s Word can transform the hearts of both children and adults, so rather than entertainment or babysitting, Sunday morning for children is about learning to worship Christ. So on Sunday morning, you will find children at HBCG learning what it is to exalt Christ- whether it’s through listening to a biblical lesson, singing songs, memorizing  verses, praying for churches worldwide, or seeking to apply lessons through crafts and discussion.
What should I wear?
We could be described as casual and flexible. Some come dressed in business casual, while some come in jeans or casual skirts. While it is great to dress up to show our respect for someone (a great reason to dress up for church) our focus is on God’s concern for our heart in worship. Let’s come before the throne together with modesty (1 Timothy 2:9-10), boldness (Hebrews 10:19), and a clean heart (Psalm 51:10).
What should I bring?
Every week we will go through a passage of scripture as we seek to meet our God, find Him absolutely fulfilling, and go away different for having met with Him. Bring a Bible if you can. We use them every week! We have some to borrow if you do not have one. We will be preaching from the English Standard Version.
